  1. Well ad says R, got plaque etc, best way wold be drop Ducati an email with the chassis no

  2. Hi Kev, the thumbnails at the bottom of the ad show the top yoke with no. 0247 and the text with the ad says it has the numbered plaque and 999R cover with the bike. The plaque should have the frame and engine numbers on it. Don't know if the paint job is original Ducati or aftermarket, maybe a check with Ducati H/office would shed some light? The bike has been up for sale for at least a couple of months though that I know of and the price seems a bit high to me for the older version (pre 2005). Still looking for that next toy then?

  3. Its a 2004 model(pre facelift). All Airwaves race bikes were 05 shape I believe.

  4. Think there were a Few reps in an R, but I'm a philistine so wait til some of the more educated Ducatisti turn up...

  5. I'm not an expert at all, but I thought the R had bronze coloured rocker-covers.

  6. I thought that as well, magnesium aren't they on the R's?

  7. Looks nice!

  8. As someone else has pointed out it says "R" in the advert and they are an official Ducati dealer so would think they would up front with it.
there were no official Airwaves "R" models they were all 749/999s versions

  9. Well they were from 2004 onwards, I'm confused as its definitely a R frame (different to the other frames) has the 04 swingarm onwards (2004 this hit the R only, from 2005 all other models) but the rocker covers should be magnesium if an 04 model?

But it does have an official paint job by rage designs, however I recall Mike (owner of RD) saying he couldn't paint reps due to contracts with sE, other than the official 999S reps???

  10. Still looking Hugh, been tempted by a few but not bit bullet yet.

  11. Yep, definitely an R, I've seen it in the flesh a few weeks ago whilst my bike was in for a service at DMC.

  12. Moved to Superbike

  13. It is without doubt an R but there are a few things not right. It should have vented belt covers , Magnesium head light shroud and possibly mag valve covers but there were some without.

There are a few changes in an R frame
1, The ignition support bar is removable . Welded in on none R .
2, Theres only two bolt positions for the foot rest .
3, The bracket that has the exhaust bolted to it , above the right foot rest , is removable . Welded to none R .

  14. just love that number plate though

  15. Well I like it, there is a unregistered R on ebay with starting price of £13k
