Humph. Three year plant refreshers. Had my remote and pendant crane refreshers yesterday (remote wasn`t due for another year but they did it anyway) and had my telehandler refresher the day before. I don`t drive the telehandler very often so how I managed to get through on 9 points lost is a bloody miracle, a fail being 40 points or if you trash the course, whichever comes first. Better to be lucky than good on that one. Had to do my loading shovel, B1 and B3 forklifts last year so I`m pretty fed up of plant refreshers. Artic training seems to be on the back burner now, should have had my assessment 2 weeks ago but it was cancelled, they couldn`t release the on site assessor from his main job. Shame because I`d just about cracked it, even when it went very wrong I could still sort it with just one shunt.....and a healthy amount of "Please come round, PLEEEEEASE!!!" Three days off now. My plans........ ........my girlfriend may not agree
Looked at the lawn. Had turf laid last year and in general it's taken well but some patches need some seed to fill in the muddier bits. I know you're supposed to wait till march and april but the winter has been mild ?
We had the drive block paved a few years ago, they put some concrete around the edges where the turf was being laid to stop the blocks from "creeping." The turf never really took around the edges and every year I threaten to sort it but, in the Spring, a young man`s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of getting his Ducati back on the road so......... feck the garden.
Mate moved his stuff in today, stopping here for 3/4 months while his new house gets built, hopefully won't be any arguments! Also nipped out for a 3 mile run on the bike since it was dry to get him a key cut, jesus christ I forgot how quick a bike is, poo everywhere giving it a handful in 2nd! Yesterday we booked 5 trackdays too, Cadwell, Donny & Oulton so glad to have them to look forward to, along with Almeria and a trip to Nurburgring, to take me though until the end of June. Roll on summer.
Setup my new bike, abit more involved as I had to cut the inter grated seat post down. Some cool tech on the cranks and seat post
