Just Bought My First Ducati And Looking For Advice !

  1. JT are the largest speocket manufacturers in the world - a lot of their product is oem bike manufacturers (you don't think they make the sprockets themselves ?) Ive never heard a bad word said about them. Be interested where you heard the horror stories from ??

  2. I’ve never experienced any of the products myself so hard to comment. But purely going on feedback from people that have used them. They certainly do have a massive range. Possible fitting issues or wrong parts could be to blame...

  4. Had one of these great fun to ride, in my opinion to highly geared as stock, geared down with a larger rear sprocket.
And fitted a powerplug to improve fuelling.
Regarding calming it down, that can be done with your right hand.

  5. Why would you want to calm it down, your right hand can do that, i recently went up two teeth on the rear on my S2r 800, best thing ive ever done, and my 63rd is this year!

  6. Fitted JT to my hyper and current bike Monster 1200 + 2t
Well engineered adaptors and good quality sprockets.
Plus if they do wear it won’t break the bank replacing them.
Lowering the drive ratio made both bikes more rideable in the real world.

  7. Welcome ... Nice bike ... I agree with most of the mods ... Except the holes in the air box ... It seams a cheep way too increase intake air flow after changing an exhaust ... Just get it remained ...

  8. Remapped

  9. it was remapped when the zard end cans were fitted.....

  11. Got me bits and bobs done:

The 16T sprocket was a great move - makes it much much nicer to live with.

Got it serviced / belts changed ( even though it's only done 3,000 miles, its 7.5 years old, so better to be safe than sorry) - Went for DNA air filter, but no lid drilling.

New tyres (Diablo Rosso 2), some real mirrors (those standard ones are hopeless !) and a sticker kit.

The Zard "Penta" twin end cans fitted by the original owner, not only look good, but are no too loud, which suits an old cogger like me just fine.....

Now time to do some riding !

  13. Can you recall where you got those from Mark? TIA

  14. I’m the second owner, the first owner bought it from DMC Preston so they should be able to help, it’s the Lorenzo kit, but I removed the 99 from the tail panel and replaced it with a Ducati Mechanica sticker, there is still a 99 motif on the tank but it’s abstract so it can stay, the bike was bought in December 16 if that helps when you call DMC.
