Cheers Dave, that pic is actually 6 years old, little fella can now sit on the seat and reach the bars with his feet on the pegs Time sure does fly
Yeah... Looking again your bang on That’s kind of a darker silver, almost Graphite same colour as the frame? The only thing that weirds me out a little is the Fairing decals, Ducati Performance! Surly should follow 748 lines?
You’re probably right with the decals, they’re certainly aftermarket and were on the bike when I bought it, most likely covering scratches of some sort, but they don’t offend me enough to whip em off, so they’re still on to this day, I really like the wheel colour, just looks ‘right’
So who’s got the period correct decals? expat-jack has darker 748R yours seem lighter? Dude I’m thinking I prefer the cleaner look with nowt on.... just saying Perhaps it’s just the angle.... It’s messing with my eyes!
I’ve a picture of my son sat on my 999s from 2004 and probably a similar age.....Boy they grow up quick.... I think your lads looking for the key
I can manage to look past the niggly bits, kinda like ogling a voluptuous brunette and not noticing the odd stretch mark
The bikes are slightly different Dave. Duncs is a mark 1 r, mine is the 02 model. My badges are all original and black. TBH not sure on the original R colour. Someone will know.
Little sod knows where it’s kept and knew the start procedure at age 4, had to hide the garage key to keep him away from it, the look on his face was pure magic the first time he thumbed the starter button
My bro cam over with his boy last summer and we fired up the Pani R. The lad sat on it (6) and I said give this throttle a little twist. He duly did so and nearly jumped off the bike vertically with the glorious noise. Fortunately my bro had video’d it for posterity.
Ah that would explain.... Yours just pops more visually, Could well just be darker lettering. Both look wicked.... Missed out on that era as I was too busy blowing up 2 strokes
Love a 2 stroke. I blew them up in the 80’s and 90’s. I happened to be in Swansea last Monday popped into M&P. They must have half a dozen KHs in plus a nice KR1S which was my last stroker.
he damn near did when he got aboard my bro in laws 1198, that thing made the hairs on my neck stand up and my hearing is pretty dull at best
Fab.... Luv another stoker... KR1S... They were proper quick, raced a guy on one around some fast a roads, I was riding my RGV250 Ex Steve Colville TT bike and that was fast as... couldn’t catch the man but later found out he was some top ranking proddy racer.... First proper 2 stroke was a Kawasaki AR80 then progressed up too a RD125LC.... passed test on the AR in 1985. After the RD I had an X7 that constantly popped pistons like they were going out of fashion. Got bored of rebuilding that every few months and went back to the Yams, 250LC followed by 350 YPVS.... Then 2 RGV’s and finished up my two stroke days on a Honda NSR400 triple.... I can still smell it now
What a dude..... Matching lid Them triples were quick back in the day! Totally useless brakes stunning 1198S in the right colours too..... Sweeeet
Right to do list for 2moz.... Dig out old bike pictures from loft let’s have it we had the best years ever
