Having a chat with a bloke over a pint in my local last night, during which I discovered he was worth around £4million quid! He told me the amazing story of how he got so rich. Basically when he left school he had little or no formal qualifications but he loved scooters, was good with his hands and he knew how to sell. He knew he was never going to make it in an office job so it was nose to the grindstone time. He left school at 15 and bought an old series 3 Lambretta and spent a few weeks fixing it up, he then sold it for profit. He then used the money to buy another and so on. He did this a lot over the next 30 years, buying, repairing, selling, buying again. He eventually moved on to include Vespas in his range, and then on to Autos in the last six or seven years. Even during the real bad times he plugged away. Never giving up on scooters or the scooter life. He lived it and breathed it 24/7. He worked long hours as you do in the self employed scooter trade, sometimes not seeing his wife and kids for days in pursuit of his life goal. Then one day his uncle died and left him £4 million.
Does the GoPro overlay the speedo? Or else how’s that done? Which GoPro and which one of your bikes? So many questions, sorry
Yes when you download the footage into the GoPro software it uses the telemetry recorded to create gauges to add to the recording. I have a Hero 7 Black. This was on my current model GSXR1000. No problem about the questions - the unit was in a fitted foam cover so you don't just hear wind noise.
Just cut the grass & made tidy the garden at the property that has now been sold,so nice and presentable for the next person. @Davebird putting a spring into your step today.
Looks like my Diavel has been sold this morning so I have been across to Ducati Manchester to finalise the deal on my new V2 and to order the graphics, seat cowl and carbon exhaust cap. Should look proper smart and tarty when it's done
Despite the winter chill and the incessant drizzle, I felt I had to jet wash my car before it goes for an MoT tomorrow. I'm now chilled to the bone and wet but that's me done so I'm retiring to the sofa, winding the central heating up and planning what I'm going to cook for tea. Nigella's "Slut's spaghetti" with extra chilli is currently favourite Andy
That’s Barcelona Cathedral, not to be confused with La Sagrada Familia, which I believe is due for completion in 2026!
Where are you staying you lucky bastid ? That view looks very familiar and I've got to wait another 3 and half months before seeing it again first hand. I love Barcelona. Andy
Me and SWMBO visited there a few years ago and was walking behind some scouse girls when we were came up to the modern Jesus on the cross and one of the girls said in a loud high pitched scouse twang "Bloody hell that looks like Batman hanging up there"
Cheers! Hotel 1898 on the Ramblas, moving on to Madrid for one night on Friday before catching the train to Córdoba. This city has a great vibe, so many bars so little time!
Ah, that is why it looks so familiar. We celebrated my 65th at the 1898 in January last year. Bar Lobo next door is one of my favourite bars. Garlic clams to die for and albondigas with morcea and ceps, yum, yum. Hope you have a great time. Andy
Enjoy! Watch out for the pick pockets but don't wear your rucksack on your front cos you'll look like a numpty!
took the 999 in for a service, got a courtesy monster 821, lots of fun despite the rain. sweet little bike, very different from the old ones
