yes, that’s the way @Old rider did it I bought a kit with three different, eccentric throttle tubes. I used the one with the shortest throw and found it a lot better
The R1 throttle does give a slightly quicker action than oem and for me it was enough as I have rarely felt the need for full throttle when a handful delivers plenty of instant thrust for this old git. It may be different when riding a 749 though... For me, the really big benefit of the R1 throttle tube is the elimination of slack in the throttle cable. This makes for much smoother and more predictable power delivery at slow speeds and coming out of slow corners. Imho, one of the most cost effective things you can do to a 999 but maybe less important on the less torquey, more revvy 749.
