A violent hailstorm put an end to my open face lid......it got smashed with a sledgehammer................


.........but there were some advantages to open face helmets........

.....you could still have a fag up to about 30mph....

...and you could put them on and take them off when wearing spectacles or shades.

Yep, used to dispatch on milder days in an open face lid for that very reason

 

But there was always the risk of the hot end coming off and going up your nose.....

 

had a stag beetle hit me on the nose in my open face mod days in the 80s, felt like a punch on the nose, ficking hurt
