  1. Air con pulled out cos I couldn’t find the red key

  2. I later found out that if the immobiliser has been disabled in the ECU there really isn't a problem, apart from may be an insurance claim for theft... if it was recovered... Not a big issue on an older bike. I was trying to educate myself on the fly.

A 748 is in that space in the garage.
No more room until the demolition and rebuilding of said bike storage is complete, circa 2023*
*I don't like to rush things.

  4. For my future reference, just in case, do they need the bike/ECU in their possession or just the frame/engine numbers?

Also, when were the red keys introduced, anyone know?

  5. You may want to start a new thread for this sale @mike willis

  6. No red keys for 2002 ST4, the ST4s had an immobiliser so they may have had them then - probably introduced with 999 series? I think your 748 is safe from red keys :upyeah:

  12. There's hundreds of Red Key post & threads.

Correct, no red key with my 748 or the ST2, but then I've no red key for the M1100S either and that's 2009:(

  13. I believe you have a rattle can of Ducati red :upyeah::D

  15. I have a problem.
Someone else has come forward from an ad in Cars and Classics and is offering me full price, whereas the other guy was offering rather less (like air con).
Full price Guy is offering a deposit and to send a courier to collect. How do I guard against being diddled??
Lower offer guy is coming in person with a van and presumably bringing cash.
Really don’t know what to do now.
A bird in the hand is worth two hands in the bush and all that...
I also feel bad about pulling out of an agreement.

  16. The guy offering the deposit has to pay you the full amount by BACS or cash before the bike is handed to the courier, simple as that!
