SC Project de-cat has just been released https://shop.sc-project.com/en-GB/3822_D31-DE-SS-De-cat-link-compatible-with-original.htm
Mine all removed and being coated black ... not a simple job to remove either! At least not for me. Rear subframe and tank had to come off.
Thought I’d try a new handguard, indicator mirror combo, all I can see in the stock mirrors are my elbows or shoulders so I’ve been running without any for a few months I had a pair of CRG Arrow mirrors on my S1000 a few years ago and liked them a lot so I’m going to drill a pair of Barkbusters hand guards and bolt them on with some Rottweiler mirror mounts. I’ll fit them up on the stock bars to get a bit of riding time with them before replacing the stock bar for a Renthal or similar
Just a heads up, I have a 3 week old 950 SP straight in from the factory via the dealers and perhaps Arrow are using new jigs for holding the pipework before assembly or Ducati have changed something because the fit on a 2020 bike is bad. It makes contact with the swing arm through the travel of the shock. All correct fitting instruction followed. When you look at the stock link pipe with the cat you can seen Ducati designed to to be flatter and wider to create clearance for the swing arm.
Cheers both. Will get it all back from being coated in a few weeks and see how bad it is to fit properly.
Not long after I posted before I too the plunge and ordered the SC-Project link pipe. I'll write off the Arrow pipe as a learning experience. When the next one arrives I'll post a side by side photo comparison of the two pipes.
Pipes have come back ... they are satin black just look a bit silver in the pic. ... just waiting on the cans now.
Evening all, so as promised I said I would take some comparison pics of the Arrow vs SC project link pipes once the SC kit arrived. Needless to say in this case you do "pay for what you get" and as far as I'm concerned the SC project kit surpasses the Arrow pipe in every way. Finish is better, fitting better and clearances as good as the stock kit. Again just the opinion of a guy who regrettably bought the Arrow pipe fist with his hard earned cash then had to buy the more expensive item. All I would say to anyone else looking at a link pipe for 2020 hypermotard 950 is consider spending a bit more as you deserve a pipe that fits well first time.
I’m happy with how the Barkbusters hand guard, indicator and CRG mirror combo worked out. I’ll probably change the handlebar for something from Renthal to take care of the gap at the end of the grips or might cut the stock bar down
All fitted. Link pipe is close to swinging arm as discussed previously. SC project link pipe would be the way to go. Made it easier i think fitting it in one go with headers loose.
