Have a word with him. Tell him the truth. Say you don't want to fuck him about but £750 is £750 so he needs to up it a bit but not full asking. That's what i'd do.
OR, go back to the £4,500 person and tell him you have a higher offer but the £4,500 person asked first and you would like to give him a chance to up his offer. The full price purchaser should be avoided unless he comes with full price cash in person or fully pays up front and only then sends the courier
Tricky with the two offers, you decide that one yourself! Re payment. Let no one take your bike without full cash payment in your hand or preferably a transfer in your bank, cleared funds and NOT PAYPAL. Unless you are OK with giving your bike away...
