Ducati 916 Sps Wheel Colours?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by WAYNE, Feb 22, 2020.

  1. I've researched this but don't seem to have a proper answer(nothing new there with Ducati) does anyone know what colour 916 sps wheels are as some are black and some are gold, some with three spoke and some with five spoke????????

  2. Early 916 sps had gold 3 spoke wheels. Later had 5 spokes. Think the change over year was 98

  3. What year sps?
Don’t think they come ever original with black wheels.

    Henk!!!

  11. Not 100% sure but I think it was 2002 for the colour matched mirrors...

  12. I think that is right. But would not put my house on it!

  14. Yep,
    Gold 3 spokes on a ’97 SPS.
As the SPS came never with black 3 spokes.
Indeed as said only black but 5 spokes then on the foggy rep.

And do the wheels have ducati racing around the wheel nut?

    Henk!!!

  15. No, they are black 5 spoke with no writing around the wheel nut.

  16. When are you going to load up a picture of yours then.

  17. I,m not because it's one iv'e got my eye on, i'm going to view at some point this week, the picture of it is a bit vague so just need to clarify its an sps before any money gets handed over.;)

  18. Make sure you carry out a Ducati check with both the engine & frame chassis numbers.:upyeah:

  19. Out of interest what mileage and asking price? Do you feel comfortable sharing?

  20. Plenty of good free advice on here post up your next round of questions when you have seen it.
On a 20 year-old bike, many items may have been changed, the best way to be sure it is an SPS is to get the engine and frame numbers verified by Ducati.
