1199 1199 To 959

  1. I have an 1199, that was bought brand new to be used as a track and road bike and upgraded by the original owner who’s friend had something to do with superstock or something and looked after it meticulously and kept the service sheets but not service book.

it was nicely upgraded too, ohlins fork cartridges, ohlins ttx shock, ohlins upgraded steering damper, 70mm corse termi system, forged marchesinis, loads of carbon etc.

it’s a road bike, so had all road stuff panels everything and I used it on the road last year but decided to put Ducati performance race fairings on it and take it to Cartagena last week on my first track day.

Yhe bike is absolutely insane, so quick but miles too quick for my level of track experience so am now thinking of going to a 959 trioptions or something like that.

I was reading up and would appear to make a more suited choice to my needs as the 1199 is just too much of an animal for me.

where is a good place to find some track bikes 899/959?

and given the above, what would be a likely figure for my bike to sell? The options on it are worth a good few quid I know that!

6k miles, full road bike, carbon hugger, carbon mudguard, carbon key guard, carbon heel guards, carbon shock guard, carbon engine guards, DP tail tidy, DP race seat, 1299 pegs, and can supply with full DP track kit if required... think 2 previous owners

would I be best selling back as a pure road bike?

  2. I'd put all the good stuff from the 1199 onto a 959/899 and bung the 959 stuff onto the 1199. Job done :)

  3. Definitely sell as a road bike much wider audience to sell to.

  4. A friend has just bought an 1199 track bike this week for 9.5k. It appeared to have the same gear on as your bike plus thousands spent on engine internals for reliability, and is absolutely immaculate, done 1600 miles.
If he hadn't bought it I would have so it might give you an idea as to prices.
I would sell the options separately

  5. I’d let this go as is for 9.5k to save me having to pull all the bits off, which I really can’t be bothered to do.

it’s back to road fairings now but still has suspension, wheels and termi corse system fitted

  6. Is the exhaust titanium mate? @Messer

  8. Think it's stainless matey. I'd be after a full ti system for my pani R.

  9. Yeh don’t think it’s ti the cans definitely say titanium on them though, so there is a slight variation there
