That’s what I was thinking, the web configurator Akrapovic for the V2 look similar to the 1299 ones. It may be that a different y piece is needed.
The akrapovic slip on and Upmap are £2500 not £3780 as quoted, that’s the full system. It’s not cheap and I couldn’t justify it but it’s the same price as the belly pipes were on the 959. Difference was that they seemed to always have those on offer as the 959 exhaust situation as challenging. My mate paid £1400 for his with the bike.
my bad, sorry dude. I think the pipes themselves would but u think the V2 has more lambda sensors due to the 2 catalytic converters, and the y piece is definitely different.
On the plus side, while running in. The bike is reporting 78mpg! That includes some town work and some stretches at 80+ mph, which I think is really impressive. Didn’t buy it for that but planning Scotland in may so glad it’s good on fuel
I suspect, despite the usual manufacturers porkies on the figures, it might be a lil bit of a peach to ride
yeah great bike. Took me a few days to get it set up how I want it. Just needed more tyres to chuck at it to go faster.
If it’s only “just a bit better” than my old 959 then it’ll be an awesome bike. The reviews I’ve read and watched say that all the little tweaks that have been made to the bike make it the best road bike out there. Ducati’s claims in certain areas are a tad far fetched though.
One of these? https://www.bikestop.co.uk/rst-race-dept-v4-one-piece-perforated-kangaroo-leather-suit I bought one just before Christmas but not been for a ride in it yet.
I'll be honest and say I couldn't care less what the mags say either, I very much doubt it's doing 78mpg but I think it seems pretty good on fuel so far judging by what I've actually put in versus the miles. I think '959 but a little better everywhere' is a fair assessment, and if that's not enough for people then I'd be surprised as the 959 is a great road bike. Things I really like so far, in varying order of importance: - Really light clutch, like the 959 but so nice coming from my 848 - Great power delivery, definitely less of a power band feel in the power around 8k and seems ever so slightly more flexible in the mid range - Comfort - Standard suspension set up is pretty close for me at 15st (so might be a bit stiff for some of you) - self cancelling indicators and general electronics are super easy to use. Also the switchgear is a big improvement on the 959. Things I don't like: - The exhaust valve shutting at 3.5krpm can be annoying in town, but easy to fix I imagine with a little gadget. - The engine is super tight, with a super tight gearbox. I'm only 100 miles in but sometimes it's really rough on shifts - Way too much throttle slop, more than the 959 I think, so have ordered the spacer kit as especially during running in it can be hard to hold constant speed on tiny throttle openings. - The standard 'sport' 'smooth' throttle mode is too dead at the first quarter of a turn, a little like my 899, I've set the throttle to high sensitivity because the bike feels disconnected otherwise. I tested and it doesn't make the previous point worse, if anything it improves it. - The gearing is a little long I think, pulling away requires a fair chunk of revs And the big one.. The indicators broke, then seem to have fixed themselves after being left for a few days.. So it's being picked up by the dealer today to go over it.
On @Topolino v4 thread he helpfully mentions putting clear chip protection film on the rear light as the v4’s have a habit of throwing stones against the light and cracking the lens. Given the V2 has the same style light (not sure if it is identical but guess so) might be an idea to do this on all your new prides and joys. I speak from experience on my v4 where the rear lens was chipped/cracked by a stone flung off my rear tyre.
