I don't think that sounds unreasonable for a starting negotiation from a dealer for such a bike, they do appear to have lesser bikes at sillier prices, but it is always down to what the purchaser is happy to part with and he seems happy so all good [/QUOTE] Yes, it looked the best value one on the market at the time
Still on their site but marked as reserved showing as having 1 mile? Shame to have a bike and never ride it.
Nope its got new clocks having done 17k miles before complete restore. Absolutely stunning, history, all paperwork, bills, pics etc.
Enjoy your stunning bike life is short as many can relate to on here, stunning bike...if you smile it’s worth it in my opinion, now ride it and enjoy it not stare at it
@andyb I've to say that bit doesn't make sense to me,but maybe the original speedo clock comes with it?.Some people do zero the clock back because it is a fresh motorcyle.
Last time Mecum ran a big desmo auction, these were some of the winning bids: 2 x 1997 916 SPS.......<£8850 each 2 x 1999 996 SPS...... <£4850 each 4 x 2000 996 SPS......3 @ £5K, highest 7K 2 x 2001 996R...... <£10548 each Clearly a very different market here! https://www.mecum.com/auctions/houston-2019/lots/motorcycles/04/04/
to my mind couple of options.. is it a genuine uk bike or a grey import that has come from europe early days and was on KMH speedo with a sticker? been crashed and damaged? be nice to see the original speedo for confirmation. you done a check with Ducati italy to see from the vin where the bike originated from?
