Hello Peeps Result From Tank Swelling !

  1. Hi Guys
so today had a good look at the tank/ignition problem stripped the tank off which was tight as hell front rubbers dry as , quick smear with waterproof grease and slipped back in easy as ( surely no one puts in dry lolol ) first problem the bracket for the coolant cap hitting the tank nice simple one just tweaked it a bit happy days .
not so easy with the ignition module too far back so cant get the carbon cover on , stripped the ignition block right down ,mole grips to get the tamper proof bolts that hold it in off , tweaked the 2 columns forward by a couple of degrees with the use of a plastic Thor hammer put it all back together worked a treat ( photos to follow ) easy fix to a certain degree if you have the know how no need for new tank seemed to cure the swollen tank problem if it is .
next problem where the tanks swollen ( I assume ) carbon still wouldn't fit didn't line up with the hole centres on the tank inserts ,had to use a round needle file to elongate the holes .
welcome to being a Ducati owner :joy::joy:
only 1 issue the Rodney that owned the bike before didn't know a lot about bikes the performance Ducati air filter he had put in dry no oil on it so the bloody air box had some crap in , hopefully nothing gone through the engine the butterfly's and the velocity stacks were nice and clean on the inside so fingers crossed...…..o_O
