Are we loosing MotoGP from the BBC?

Hardly surprising given the rubbish coverage by the BBC - they hardly see it as a priority sport - and BT wants to buy a big motorsport title.

 

Take the filthy lucre or put the good of the sport first.....................easy choice,unfortunately. A bad day for all Moto GP fans.

 

I agree, a bad day for all true fans of MotoGP. However, the BBC, as hopeless as ever, don't understand it's viewing public - I remember them scuppering live MotoGP a few years back for snooker coverage ! Those of you old enough to remember, they had sole rights to the old First Division football years ago and what did they show ? 45 minutes worth of highlights at 10:30 PM on a Saturday night with Jimmy Hill !

 

Yep be a shame as its the only live place you can see it. Hope it wont impact the Eurosport coverage either.

 

BBC are useless. If someone hadn't put down that the last race was on BBC3, I would have missed it. They never advertise it, so you end up having to guess. I wish euro sport would get the licence.

I watch the 250`s and the 600`s on euro sport then watch motogp on bbc but only so that I can watch it live .

 

This pisses me right off. I am forced, against my human rights, to pay for a tv/radio station (bbc) whether I like it or not. I watch very little of the drivel offered with the moto gp being my only excitement. Now, if i want to even watch that live, some snake will want even more money off me! ME ANGRY

 

The exclusive deal that the BBC have now only covers the main MotoGP race, which is why Eurosport can still show everything else live (practise, qualifying, Moto2 & Moto3 races) but have to delay the MotoGP race by 1 hour.

The BBC need to lose their "exclusive" licence; that way it wouldn't stop them from showing it, but it would be a highlights or time-delayed package much like Eurosport now. This would probably suit them better anyway as MotoGP always loses out to other sports and get shifted or shown on the "red button" or some other digital channel!

 

Yep its true Moto GP will be going to BT vision and BBC and Eurosport will loose it unless a deal is struck along the lines i.e. some sort of highlights package. It also looks like WSB and possibly BSB will be going over to. They have also talked about full day TT coverage so ITV could be loosing that in 2014.

Only one positive point can come of this if Eurosport don't continue their excellent coverage. That twat Charlie Cox will not be on TV with his inane, bewildering and poorly delivered commentary. And we pay his wages....the twat

 

That is very very annoying, especially as the TV service they offer is crap.

I'll just have to watch it online.

Unless they hire the Century production team, ie Roberts, Cox, Parish and Farni

I was in a Magistrates court the other day and sat and listened to a woman with 3 kids, tell the bench how she was unable to pay the fine and subsequent costs amounting to nearly £1,000 for not having a TV licence. I know we all have to pay it and I pay mine etc, but FFS...

 

The BBC should be like sky . If you want it you pay for it and it gets transmitted to your tv . Dont pay and said transmission stops. You should be able to tell BBC not to transmit it to your home if you dont want it . I cant understand ,in this day and age , why you are forced to pay for something if you dont want it.

 

BBC = public service, ie they should make programs for the minority as well as masses, and continue to support obscure radio stations worldwide.
