1200 R Induction Kit

Discussion in 'Monster' started by Monsterped, Feb 22, 2020.

  1. Evening all,

Now, I’ve rarely been out on the 1200R and thought...”that’s a bit slow” but I’m all for a little more giddy up if it’s available. Scrolling through FarceBook a few months ago I found a guy, ex Ducati Corse and NCR, making an induction kit offering better mid-range torque and few extra ponies. Worth a go I thought...

So today I have mostly been fitting this.

Ducati Performance filter in new design inlet housing with new velocity stacks, all 3D printed. Much freer flowing design. The pic below shows before and after (bottom half of the pic, not my bike). Already have an Arrow can fitted.

Gotta say, fitting the velocity stacks on the throttle bodies was a right arse though...

Now, it it would stop bloody raining so I can give it a go, thaaaaat’d be great...

The supplier is Giuseppe Starace, does loads of bike, worth a loo

  2. Have you ridden the bike - can you tell much difference?
Have you a link for us no Facecloth users?
    How much?

  3. Not ridden it yet, too wet/windy...

I paid about 200 Euros for the kit plus about £60 for a DP filter

Drop Giuseppe a note if you’re interested at [email protected]

That's a sweet new piece we haven't seen previously. However, his FB page was last active in 2017.
Do you have any other links?
Will you put it on the dyno?

  5. I’ve been speaking to Giuseppe this week, he’s about to move to the uk with his business so working on lots of things. He was very prompt sending me my kit, and helpful when I had questions (it’s a bit of a faff to fit the velocity stacks). He’s been posting pics this last week or two on FB.

Not sure about dyno I’ll see what it’s like

  6. Ped - DP Filter?? Ducati Performance??

  7. I echo Richard's question. I've never seen a "DP" Air Filter for the Monster. Would you have a part number?

  8. Bought from Moto Rapido, listed as Racing Air Filter, stock code 96452809B.

  9. I could not get the stock code 96452809B to load up on the Moto Rapido site.
Notwithstanding, whatever that air filter is, is not important. A Sprint Filter P08 will do.
Those velocity stacks are the "topic du jour".
I'm stocked, interested and looking forward to seeing an improvement on a dyno.
So, bring it on. If the HP gains are not on a dyno chart, they didn't happen.

  10. Moto Rapido actually thought the filter was probably made by Sprint or another decent brand (name escapes me) for Ducati

Better pic showing the velocity stacks in more detail

  11. Here Dyno just after install kit (no map) ;-) Termignoni by T800 are developing maps for my powerkit (already available maps for star.ace kits for 939 and asap for scrambler and Monster 821)

  12. Still haven’t ridden it.... bloody weather...☹️

  13. same in Italy...

  14. Maybe Thursday or Friday this week, got a couple of days off, if it’s remotely dry I’ll get out!

  15. Don't think I'd swap a more efficient filter for such small gains. Other than more intake roar you'll hardly notice the difference on the road.

  16. I am sorry but you are wrong, we are "talking" about new inlet system and filter (not just air filter) - difference will feel very very well ;-)

  17. Ciao Giuseppe,
When do you expect the maps to be available for the 1200R?

Hello Giuseppe, could you provide this forum with a short bio as to who you are and your background?
This may help your sales. BTW, this is an interesting new product.
