Quick Question. .. WHAT is an electric car like going through a flooded road? We are all aware of the dangers for ICE, but surely it's not good to get the motor or battery wet? Just I know some of the protagonists in this thread live on or very near floodplains.
I've met a few Tesla drivers and they are quite evangelical, not like Clarkson with the Merc Black, more Vegan wanting to convert you and save the world. Of my customers with them, not one has purchased a second one or got one for the wife....
One thing that worries me is crashing in an electric car. Currently cars run at 12v, electric ones vary but 400 volts are average for a small ev. I wonder if the fire and breakdown services are fully trained and equipped to deal with crashed 400 volt lithium battery vehiclesand to the extent to cover all vehicles being ev?
never said i was blind.... stuff is just a lil fuzzy these days... i bought a tape with really big numbers on it but i couldnt find it.... turns out it was under the sheet of ply i was cutting through and i cut through the tape as well... 20 quid well spent....
Usefull tip after dealing with dad, clean your glasses before you tell people you have cataracts and are going blind
ffs i never said i was going blind!!! and someone else (749er?) (the harbinger of doom) suggested i have cataracts....
sorry! its just me... i was never really good with over complicated unnecessary shit! hence my lack of a wife.....
Naw! You must be one of those loveable old eccentric, fruitcake eating, reminiscing about the whitworth system boffins wearing your slippers in the daytime.
And there's another problem with these cars. There are historical data files monitoring your driving. I'm sure insurance companies would be interested in those before they give you a quote.... I read an interesting article recently and the upshot was that 10 years from now the countryside will be full of angry old men (like me) thrashing their old sports cars round the twisties.... It certainly seems to be heading that way!
I was told the Tesla monitors everything even how accidents happen it’s computers run deeper than you think
Could it be that economical powertrains used less fuel and therefore generated less tax perhaps I seem to recall that lean burn 1.4 litre engines were all the rage before Cats came in and everybody went to 2.0 litre - should I get my tin hat
Dyson has probably put more into R&D regarding new motor technology and batteries than anyone else over the last 15 years, strange he pulled the plug on his electric car when he did...... or was it
I haven't got a Tesla. Yet. I will have a Tesla Model X complete with bells and whistles at the end of April, and I am really looking forward to it. It will be equipped with the 'Ludicrous' mode, but I'm not too arsed about that, my bikes give me the all the adrenaline I need
Thanks. A good friend of mine has the Model S, and I was very impressed with the tech in the car, the way it drives and the ride quality. The quality of the build and interior comfort isn't as good as the car I drive now, but like life, it's a compromise......
