Get Ready For Swelling Plastic Fuel Tanks

  1. E10 also burns with less heat which means less power, more consumption.

  2. I always use the premium petrol, which I think, contains no ethanol ??

  3. Just add some of this stuff.
I have been using it for ages on my vintage bikes. A bottle lasts for years really, even with multiple bikes, cos it only needs replacing if you run the tank down.

It totally eradicates and prevents any sort of ethanol problems. As soon as I bought the Mutley with its plastic tank, I put some in that too.

It basically only needs adding when the bike is standing for any length of time, cos that is when you get issues, so no need to carry it about. Fuel being run through when riding is never in long enough to cause real issues.

Just bung some in to any fresh fuel when parking up at home again and all is well :)

I should say though - there is similarly named stuff out there from other brands that is a poor copy.

The Motorex stuff is THE best on the market. Any half decent bike shop will have it - or M&P etc

Honestly guvnor its the best :)

  4. Esso super unleaded petrol (Synergy Supreme+ Unleaded 97) is ethanol free (except in Devon, Cornwall, the Teesside area and Scotland). We would therefore advise anyone who has concerns about the presence of ethanol in petrol to use Synergy Supreme+ – providing they do not fill up in Devon or Cornwall, the Teesside area or Scotland.
    From Esso u.k. FAQ's.

  5. Well, if you add the stuff two posts up when storing the bike, you can cheerfully run it on any old fuel (bar diesel lol) and it'll be fine. No need to hunt down the premium stuff (if you can even find that Esso )

  6. So how exactly does this help meet "climate change targets"??? Farmers will continue to farm with tractors (unless horses come back into fashion) and they'll just pay more for the diesel. Or rather, we will.

  7. Will this still be the case if E10 becomes the norm?

  8. Suppose all we can do is use Esso for now, then use the additive recommended by HootOwl

  9. You can contact most of the forecourt suppliers for a H&S data sheet or general info on their fuel and they will tell you what percentage of ethanol is in it. I did it some years ago when I had my MV’s as they have Acerbis plastic tanks, if I can find the info I’ll post it up but it may be out of date now......

  10. I always use the premium fuel as it gives you crisper running and more power ,sod the expense :)

  11. Most standard unleaded petrol is E5 already....has been for quite a few years.

  12. I read in the VJMC magazine that all Super Unleaded is ethanol free at the moment. Although this will change. Stations are labelling the pumps ready now.

  13. Was it a 10 year old issue in the Dentists

  14. Haha. No last year some time.

  15. From all other reports it seems they were wrong :bucktooth:
