So what have you done today..?

  1. Dragged my 748R engine out of hiding, ready to put it back in its original frame and heaven knows how I missed it but a previous owner has replaced the OE side case bolts with tacky (not my first choice of word) anodised gold aluminium bolts :scream: That is now top of the list of things that need doing before putting the bike back on the road. 2. Went to Leeds shopping so called into J&S which has some really nice gear. Sports bike shop has opened next door and it’s huge with a nice seating area and a good coffee machine.

Nice monster cafe racer on display in one of the city centre clothing shop windows.

  6. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advises against all but essential travel to St Lucia. Cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in St. Lucia. The St. Lucian authorities have introduced a number of measures to limit the spread of the virus. All non-resident British Nationals currently in St Lucia are strongly encouraged to contact their airline or tour operator, and to consider leaving the country as soon as practicably possible, as there is a risk travel out of the country and the region could become further restricted. See Health

On 15 March, the Government of St Lucia has announced that effective from 17 March, until further notice, any non-St Lucian national with a travel history in mainland China, Hong Kong, Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Iran or the UK within 14 days will not be permitted entry into St Lucia. From 16 March, cruise vessels will not be permitted to dock in St Lucia.

    Note
Virgin holidays cannot take calls from anyone unless they are travelling in the next 72 hours. That should allow them to hold on to everyone's cash as long as possible.

  8. Currently in Germany waiting for updated flights due to the news this morning.....

  9. This morning I have converted the family bathroom into a paint spraying booth. o_O

Lacquer time on the various bits of carbon fibre has arrived.

For those who followed my 748r project, you know what the current wife said. Well, fortune favours the brave and she’s at work all day. So press on. Tack coat applied already.

    Fingers crossed :)

  10. I'm not sure they can refuse to give refunds if they cant fulfil the holiday, but understand that if everyone requested them they would go bust. If you want your money back for a paid holiday you could always go down the charge back route on your credit card. Virgin wont be the only ones with a cash flow issue and it's a bit unfair, even if understandable that they are taking that approach. Need government to step up and start banning rather than softly suggesting not travelling so people can start claiming off insurance.

I'm currently sitting in the m6 services on route to liverpool from cambridge to get my car fixed and exhaust modded. Roads feel empty. I assume as people are being instructed to work from home. I start a new contract at a previous customer on monday and I have been instructed that I'll be working from home until further notice ( 2 people in the office building confirmed as having this toiletrollitis thing).

  11. What's more annoying is that they are REFUSING to communicate with people.... until 72 hours before.
A friend has just agreed a 125% credit note from 1st Cruise for cancelling his cruise, due to leave in 2 weeks.
Interesting approach. They know the money is coming back to them, however they better not up all there prices by 25 or even 50%!

Note you can only book 11 months ahead, so you cannot even check to see if you can rebook for the same time next year... (important from a weather/hurricane point of view).

  12. Put the bins out, fetched one back in, waiting in anticipation for the other to be emptied so I can venture out and retrieve that one, now self isolating.

  13. For real?

  14. Self isolating a bit tongue in cheek but my wife is very high risk, she works part time and is now working from home, looks like I might have to do the shopping!!

  16. I guess you can understand them prioritising those due to travel in the next few days. It will settle down. I guess you just have to roll with it and wait for it to settle down as its completely out of your control. Keep yourself safe and be safe in the knowledge your protected either by your credit card or abta if virgin go bust and enjoy the holiday when you get the chance
