  2. Aye, it freed up load after about 750 miles. New bikes always surprise me at how they feel ok as new but then loosen up and change completely. It's running great now - 1300 miles in.

I have gone for the smaller front sprocket. £30ish fitted at Ducati Glasgow so it's going in next Saturday. I figured the £15-£20 labour was a no brainer over me messing around for a whole evening.

Anyone know what the effect on the top speed is? A mate was asking me "so does that mean it's a 7% change" etc. I didn't consider top speed reduction to be important as it's pretty much academic, that's if it can even pull to the limiter in top as standard. I just know it needs lowering and it's by 2 or 3 on the back or 1 off the front as any less would be hardly worth doing. I'm assuming it will make a fairly obvious change - what about wheelies? Do they become an issue? (I don't expect they do). I just want to get rid of the mega long stock gearing.

I'll let you know what it's like once fitted and tested out.

  3. And they dont work

  4. Think I lost about 10mph max top end, so have to do with 160 then...and yes it can pull the limiter in top :upyeah:

  5. Anyone tried bar risers on an 848?

  6. Yes, not mine but a mates and almost converted, but....as much as better for riding (and reckon awesome track) the fact hands get trapped on the mirrors on low speed manoeuvres put me off

  7. Ach that's fine then. 160 is plenty.

  8. Here's a few

    848 project

Would def. go for 41 rear, the cheaper option is 14 front but IMHO 41 rear is the way to go:upyeah:

  9. When I had mine it was,
    Termis
    Full system
    CF gubbins
    Mirrors
    DB Screen
    Rearsets
    14T sprocket

Then it got written owf!:frown:

    14t is a must IMHO.

  10. Only today I've added a iPhone holder for twatnav etc and new position for my bullet cam...see how it works tomorrow!

  11. I have a speedymoto top yoke on mine, lifts the bars about 1" and you can pull them in/out a little making sure they still clear the tank/fairing. I find the bike more comfortable now.

  12. More info and pics needed...

  13. Is the sigma slipper clutch better than the DP one there similar price

  14. Bit of a muchness really. They're both slipper clutches, one made by sigma, one by ducati(or whoever makes it for them).

  15. I was going to get a Ducabike one, they are made in Italy as well and are good quality, unfortunately I cannot afford one at the minute !!
I have an account with the supplier so can get a bit discount

Slipper clutch Ducabike for Ducati 848 | eBay

  16. Just checked out the Hinson website they do ducati slipper clutches but only for the dry clutch bikes

  17. Sigma all day long :)

  18. 14 tooth front sprocket now fitted... And it's great! Was soaking wet while I was out but even then the change is really obvious. Fest impressions...

Massive difference to the bike. I can use top gear properly on the motorway now. It's miles better in town and generally feels more responsive and I can tackle roundabouts and junctions without slipping the clutch.

    Ideal!

  19. Good to know my bike feels awful on roundabouts 2 gear wants to run wide and in 1st the throttle is too sharp. I've still got another week or so to wait till I get mine done and get the termis is just need to get some miles done as soon as the rain stops :)

  20. cant believe no one has mentioned gold handlebar grips.....:upyeah:
