Ducati Forum: Our 2 Strokes

  1. Found some pictures whilst looking for Christmas stuff. Bought this years ago the week before Christmas, think I paid 2k or so for it.
I’ve had three 500’s but never really got on with them. A well sorted 350 is much more fun for me.

  2. Cool bikes! I had two of them and an 500 Gamma. Couldn’t wait to get rid of that.
Maybe not as rewarding to ride as a 350 but looks wise, they were the bollox!

  3. Yes, I loved the smoke from the four exhausts when you first started them but too heavy to perform well really.

  4. First 500 lc I ever saw was in ibiza whilst on my hols back in 1984 , German registered iirc.
Looked like a moto gp bike on the road at that time , still love em now tbh.
Not long after that me and some mates were on our LC's at boxhill, parked in the original layby half way back towards leatherhead , one pulled in there then took off , swore it was still in 1st until it went out of sight into the deceptives, lol .
    Puddy :)

  5. Thought I put this here before !

  6. I remember a few 500 two strokes being raced but not very competitive in the F1 class against the 750 fours.
I took these pictures at Carnaby.

  7. C2616135-C806-4EDC-B5DB-004929F58FAF.jpeg Picked up another CR ... this is a ‘75 125 .
I register all of these for the road where possible , and find it funny that my smokey old 2 strokes are ULEZ compliant (exempt) but my older cleaner 4strokes aren’t ....

  16. somewhere i have a few snapshots of the norton rotary's comeback? at the iom 2009 .. i snuck into the tent where they were workin on em and started taking pics... they weren't pleased an chased me out! the pics aren't all that but it was funny! they took it pretty serious... shame they only lasted 1 lap? think it was 1 lap.. i was having a piss when i heard em come past the first time and never saw em next lap.. but i may have been drunk...
