V4 V4s Vs V4r

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Philm, Mar 22, 2020.

  1. Has anyone ridden both the V4r and v4s ? I’m interested to know just how different they are on road and track! Obviously with one being 1200 cc and one being 1000cc I’m guessing there’s a big difference?

  2. I’m not sure why this has attracted a dislike, seems like a perfectly inoffensive thread starter to me.

There’s a few reviews from journalists out there but it would be nice to hear from a forum member.

The most honest reviews come from those who don’t have to rely on getting another test ride for a living!

Plus it would be nice to read something not C***** related for some light relief!

  3. I apologise if I’ve offended anyone ! Can’t for the life of me think why! Thanks Livefast! Yes I’ve read some journo reviews but like you said I really wanted to hear from one of us normal chaps that have ridden both! A friend of mine has a v4s and says they’re gonna be identical even though he’s not ridden the R!!!! I figured theDucati forum would be the best place to ask!

  4. It will be far fingers matey that’s all :upyeah:

  5. Agreed - I’ve inadvertently done it to a few people.

  6. I've ridden both 1299s and R versions if you'd like my input on those?

  7. HAha no worries guys , my fingers ain’t exactly slim either! Thanks Cookster, yes any info would be great! The main reason is that I’ve put a good few miles on my R now and it’s truly mental! I mean like nothing else I’ve ever ridden! Put it against my fully sorted R1 race bike and it makes the R1 look very slow! Didn’t get to ride them back to back at Jerez last weekend due to obvious reasons but I’m now wondering if the V4s would be more manageable perhaps!!!

  8. The 1299s was definitely an easier bike to ride on road , the R spins up so quick its hard to ride it at legal speeds. Don't get me wrong the S is mental fast too but just seemed a bit more civilised. The R felt alot lighter too.

  9. Thanks Cookster, different models I know but I guess the comparisons would be very similar! That’s exactly what I’m finding with the R! It’s spinning up real quick! Maybe it will make more sense on track especially when I can fiddle with the electronics! Particularly the anti wheelie, I mean the R1 wheelies but this animal is launching well over 100mph! (Even though I’ve never been over 70mph!

  10. I could imagine the v4r would be far to much for mortal people.

  11. According to 650ib (I really dislike him but I was so very bored!) he dyno’d the V4R and the V2 and I was really shocked that the v4R didn’t make more power until 10k revs and Infact lower down it was down on power, so for me even on track I’d buy a v4s, especially the new one now it’s been tweaked

  12. Only time I've heard honest feedback about a V4R was when I saw this one getting hammered round Anglesey last year.
It was a press bike and a guy was doing runs for photos on it, he got off next to our garage, answered his phone and said "please mate not another sesh just yet its fucking killing me I need a break"
    So yeah, quick I imagine.

  13. I thought the V4S was 1103cc!

  14. Sorry; yes ! It is 1100 not 1200! My bad!!

  15. Funny, that’s usually my sentiments towards Ducati when pushing on
