Done all that, download : 57, upload : 12 and ping : 11. I have a new (couple of months old) v6 BT router that was operating fine 10 days ago, in the last week the wifi has been dire. Didn’t really want to shell out on a new router but that might be the way forward. Andy
That sounds fine.... no need for a new router... Q. "Have you turned it off for 1 minute and then back on again" - in my best indian waiters voice. Both the router and the Ipad/Phone.
The chap I spoke to was in a call centre in Newcastle although fortunately not a native of Newcastle. I have no issues with the PC or smart TV as they are both connected on a LAN. It’s just the iPad and phone, even when I’m the same room as the router. Andy
Log into your BT router and find the option that allows you to split your wifi network into 2. Call the new 5ghz one the same as the old but just add 5ghz onto the end of the name Then you can choose to connect your ipad to the 5ghz network specifically rather than letting it choose automatically which is the default. 2.4ghz has better range though solid objects but is slow and more likely to suffer from interference so many wifi performance issues can be mitigated by switching to 5ghz - especially if you are have a decent 5ghz signal where you need it. PM me if you need more specific help
I was just answering you! Check the name on the certificate - it doesn’t match the name of the server you are connecting to. For an SSL certificate to be valid it needs 3 things. 1, Be issued by a trusted root certificate authority 2, Be in date 3, Have a common name or subject alternative name that matches the url or IP address you have used to access the website or resource. In this case it seems to be the name part. So compare the name on the certificate with the server your mail client is configured to connect to and let me know the result. Again - PM so I don’t bore everyone senseless!
Our boiler packed up last week and today our plumber came to fit a new one. Great job but bloody worrying having him and his peer in every room. I asked hem to wash their hands and wear gloves I supplied them. Then washed all doors, taps, loo flush and rad valves. Also made sure they were distancing properly. TBH they were great and had no issue with my requests - I explained it was for their safety as much as ours. Paranoia? I hope so. Nice and toasty now. He’s going to do my bathroom when this is done as a thank you from me.
If you receive an email with the subject "Ding Dong", don't open it. It's the Jehovah's Witnesses temporarily working from home.
and not sure if there was any point now, all that lovely sunshine coming this week but still a dilemma.
Spent the day in the garden cutting down, in order to thin out, some shrubs/trees and then pruned the apple trees. Giving them the correct social distance so they could thrive. Each time I cut something out and threw it to one side, I pretended they were people and said to myself 'that's another moronic eejit who refused to follow the guidelines taken out'. I think I may need to see a psychologist
Yup. Method in the madness. We had booked him in for two weeks time so I was on reasonably safe ground. Now we will go ahead immediately the government lift restrictions. He’s a good man if you need a plumber, probably does Marlow (but I suspect you are sorted as you are trade?).
Thanks but I have a great bunch of guys, a couple of gas only and a couple of oil boys, I have a great contacts book. If you need anything let me know, we do lots of interesting stuff.
