Anyone know a good source for Renthal? Doing a 520 conversion... Apparently a 16T front Ultralight is hard to source ?!? 41T rear Thanks
Shop around definitely....Just finished my 520 conversion. Renthal is not going to be your cheapest option due to having to run a quick change sprocket carrier. Massive weight saving over OE gear. And definitely drop one on the front....
Thanks Dave. Looks great ! I've got the Superlite goodies on order from "Sprocket Center" but do want to keep Renthal for the chainwheels. I understand the impact of dropping to 15T on the front. Have you ridden it in that setup? Did you figure out where the speed sensor takes its data from?
Yeah it’s good gear so you shouldn’t have any issues and pretty sure it’s compatible. I’m a couple of rides in now with that setup and confirm that it’s far better suited and even more outrageous! I did recalibrate mine in the settings just in case. Fairly simple procedure. I still have a blipper issue since completing all the work but hopefully will get this sorted under warranty. Up shifts are fine but have no downshift blipper! It worked for 10 minutes on the first ride then had a brain fart! I’m going to order the HM direct replacement purely due to its adjustability and reliability, The OE quickshifter is far to lazy for my liking and non adjustable.
As I'm still in "running in mode" and not at all used to it yet, it accelerates fine for me right now... Again, not fully used to it at all but I did think on Sunday when I was caning it that the quick shifter was a little 'lazy' going up the box. My old S-thou seemed like a more direct feel. Certainly not complaining. Do HM have a direct replacement for the V4 now? Need to get a few more miles on it and get its first service done (Corona permitting). Still got an ABS ERROR light on the dash but it doesn't seem to be holding it up ! Emailed B&C Express for the Renthals...
Apparently the HM definitely has a better feel, Far more positive with fully adjustable kill time. The OE one is pretty random! Some shifts feel quicker and more precise than others. Just doesn’t feel consistent enough, Feels like it needs a shorter cut time. All in all it’s built to a budget I suppose It’s also well documented with having it’s fair share of issues just like mine. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/202760323016
I’ve literally just ordered one via Reactive Parts so will be here tomorrow. We have a trade account with them so a little bit more discount think it was the only one in stock so you might have to shop about. Will detail the fitment in a new post over the next few days and let you know how it feels I’m hoping on a far better shift both ways I’ve run HM shifters before on various bikes with great results.
You must have deep pockets or getting some good sponsorship deal? I can’t for the life of me understand the pricing for that particular product
I looked at that and thought "nice" ! Then I looked at the price and thought "summer holiday instead" !

Thanks Adam. Missed your message and ordered the rear from B&C and the front (AFAM) from Performance-Parts. I'll nudge Brett next time... Thanks again
