Hello From A New Newbie! (and, A Question About Leather Jackets!)

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by DrDaniel, Mar 25, 2020.

  1. Dear all,

I’m Daniel. I’m new to bikes, new to Ducati, and new to the forum!

I hope you’re all well (especially considering what’s going on in the world at the moment!)

As the shops are closed, and we’re not allowed to go outside anyway, I’ve been looking online at some different leather jackets.

Does anyone have any of the following jackets:

    Dainese Stripes D1;
Ducati Dainese Company C2; or the
    Ducati Heritage C1 jacket...?

My question is regarding sizing. I’m pretty much a 42 inch chest. But, do these jackets wear true-to-size, or are they smaller than you’d think?

    Cheers!

  6. Welcome Dave.

I’ve got the Heritage jacket...........they are sized “smaller” than expected. I had to get the size bigger than I would normally get.

  7. Welcome to the Forum Dr. Dan. :upyeah:

As said above most Italian makes come up smaller than expected, go at least 1 size larger.

  8. Thank, Jack!
I am... but I work with kids, who aren’t as affected as adults by it, but we’re still waiting to see the overall, knock-on effect...

  9. Thanks for the advice, guys!

So much more convenient to just go to the store and try them on... how we take things for granted!

    Stay well everyone.

  11. Would you recommend it?

  12. Yes I would......but the only thing I would say is that having gone a size larger in the chest (normally I’m a 40” chest so went up to a 42”) they also go up a size in the arm length, so it may be a slight issue, that’s all.

  13. Welcome to the forum

  14. Welcome and enjoy!

  15. hello and welcome dr dude...

  16. Greetings! I have a couple of their jackets inc the Heritage one. Mine fit well, though maybe I'm a bit skinny LOL. They're well made and no problems at all.

  17. Thanks for the warm welcome, and the advice/comments from everyone.
I sit exactly between a 42/44, depending on the brand/specific jacket, which is why I’m asking all these questions... further compounded by the lockdown!
Toro: The longer arms won’t be an issue - I usually find they’re too short!
Jez900ie: Skinny, but with what size is your chest? Is it true to size, or have you gone up one size as well?
I’m tempted to go up a size, but then, when the diet kicks in, everything will be too big!!

  18. Sorry I should have been clearer, my jackets are the same size in Ducati clothes as they are in any other brand.

    Hope that helps!

  19. When the diet kicks in! I’ve been using that line for 10yrs now :joy: Welcome anyway DrDan & whatcha riding?
