They will forget. FE have had a rep for years, for good reason. The issues are widely known. Yet people use and support them, knowing this.
There's always fresh meat. I was in Almeria recently, it was interesting that over 1/2 the riders (estimate) were non UK.
Interesting to see how no-one has jumped all over NL since this was posted. If it was FE we wouldn't have heard the end of it yet!
I’ve had far worse issues with NL than FE and try to avoid them at all costs now. Sometimes it can’t be helped with my rotation though
It’s all about T&Cs matey, no different to others, and f*ck the consumer. I wrote off the money as I didnt want the risk of paying the balance months ahead and still not going. Then I’d be £1500 deep if f*ck you nightmare. They offered £50 credit though...then never gave it to me I was reading my son’s Jet2 ones last week as they cancelled his holiday. Reams and reams of small print, and no where does it say that if THEY cancel the flight, THEY will refund!
People bang on about T&C's, especially those not wanting to pay out. T&S's must still be lawful,if you're feeling strongly aggrieved open a small claim via Gov.UK. Force Majeure is also being banded about a lot, this may release a party from their contracted obligation, however it doesn't entitle them to keep monies given as deposits etc. I suspect there's going to be an awful lot of this with event organizers and holiday companies. There's mechanisms in place now to get financial support from Central Government, I don't see any need to be screwing over the individual punter.
Jet2 are fekkin awful. The worst. They make Ryanair look positively class and angelic. They left me and the Mrs high and dry in Turkey a few years back. When I spoke to the arrogant pilot, I wanted to garrote the cocky bastard. I managed to refrain. Never fly that shower again.
TBF we have travelled with jet2 a few times and found them ok. No messing with bags though, self check in and if its over by a gram, thats £25 please. Each way.

It was. As I said T&Cs. Can’t remember it being explicit to start with it was non refundable. And with people allegedly on a waiting list, as medically unfit to travel (likely given period of physio etc) and with at least 5 months notice good customer care would have done something. NL did nothing and didn’t even give the small credit that I was entitled to. I heard there was no space do they obviously sold it again. Put down to experience and not one of repeat But FE doing the same has people crawling all over it. I think that was the posters point.
NL get away with murder mate, they really do. The amount of folk that kiss their arse is unreal. I've had loads of issues with NL over the years but with my rota sometimes I have to go with them. OK I'm having issues with FE now trying to get a refund but I've not had any hassle with FE on the previous 2 events I've been with them.
