My ECU body is damaged. I read on here the Fiat Punto uses the same ECU and I see ones on ebay for £30. Is it possible to swap the body on the ecu?
yip, same ecu as the mrk2 8v petrol. I wouldn't want to confirm how easy or doable you can swap the internals tho.
I wonder how steady handed you would need to be to get a hold of a punto ecu. cut the appropriate housing and bond it to your own.
The ecu housing looks to be formed in two halves, one plastic side with 4 screws holding it to the metal side. I wondered if there was an O ring or if they are also bonded together?
I had a dead 59M and I thought I'd see if i could get inside it. In a very short time it was only fit for the bin And I'm used to working with electronic devices.
The metal half is purely a heat sink and a mounting medium. All the important bits are in the plastic piece. Yours is beyond help IMO. They can be flashed readily, so you don’t need to get one specific to your bike, get a good used one and have it flashed to suit
it appears the word we are looking for is, undoable. had it been a customers car working to a budget, I would of found an affordable way to put it together and seal it. not so easy for regular removal, as is often the way for bikes.
