I like the paint scheme on the Arai Ducati Manchester offer me 20% off cos I bought the hyper
but is this a requirement of hyper riders LOL

I did try it on and it looked odd...comfy fit nice lid....

    what is the general consensus?

  7. Damn, I like it... go for it.... Im looking for a new lid myself.

  8. I've got a Tour-X3 in Frost Black (matt black) and having worn "normal" full face helmets for the last 25+ years it's a bit odd!
I like the look but still not too sure about it...

  9. Look even better with a liver bird on it :) and maybe 5 European cups around the edge :)

  10. i have a simular type visored motocross helmet, find these visored helmets are so pointed and curved at the front it does not give you a clear view ahead, very distorted , i only use mine for green laneing and only pull the visor down on over grown lanes to stop getting slapped in the face , also wouldnt fancy a peak on a helmet especaily at speed as it trys to lift your head back, and thats just on a dirt bike at maybe 40 -50mph, as i say, thats with mine and other simular that mates have, common fault with these style is the distorted view , this one may be fine, kev

  12. I've had both Arai Tour-X and Shoei Hornet and didn't really get on with either for road riding. At high speed the peak makes them very unstable and if you turn your head to look behind it nearly pulls your head off. In fact I had the wind rip the peak off of one side on my Tour-X. Form over function I reckon. I use a regular Arai on my SuperDuke these days.

  13. Pict,

Spooky coincidence but I was looking at this helmet on So Many Roads website (local clothes shop, good fella good gear) and I really like the look of it.

How quite is it, its fairly expensive but not too bothered as my Arai was only 100 pound cheaper and is bloody noisey!!!

    Never had a shoei

What colour did you get? the black and red or white / red / blue?

    I like both......

  14. My bike is red / white / black EVO SP so (of course!) have gone for the balck and red (what they call the 'Journey').

I tried on a plain gloss black on Sunday as they didn't have stock in the Journey and the medium is a snugger fit than my medium Arai Chaser which is no bad thing as it has never been a perfect fit.

I don't collect until Saturday so can't comment on noise but it 'feels' quiet

The internal balck visor was an attraction as was the double D-ring fastening - I have seen Shoei in the past with clunky 'seat belt' type fasteners. The internal visor doesn't hit my specs or my nose, but I would think that is something to check before buying.

I also haven't had a Shoei, but am hopeful that as I don't quite have an Arai head (definitely DON'T have an AGV head) then this will be the start of a beautiful relationship with Shoei.

Am also purchasing from local (ish!) clothes shop, good guys, good gear. Time to support the independents -death to the capitalist pig dogs!
