My boys' PW50 is on eBay as they told me they don't want to ride it again. I put a phone number on it and a line saying first to offer 350 can take it. I had an offer of £300, which I accepted but then rescinded due to being offered £100 more. I understand that it isn't good practice but now the guy won't stop texting me. He's even got his dad on the case texting me. I'm ignoring him now, after apologising but they're some crazy people. I've got a feeling they're either going to come around my way and burn my house down or spoil the auction.

You took an offer and reneged on it. Would you be pissed off if it was you that was buying. Decent thing to do is go with the first offer. No sympathy here for you either.

Alas, it is done now. I just don't think his abusive and persistent messages from multiple phone numbers was justified. If the shoe had been on the other foot, as it has been in the past, I would have been disappointed and not thought highly of the seller. I wouldn't have text him obscenities throughout the day. And I can see why it would be considered unpleasant behaviour, and I'm sure others can understand why I may wish to sell for as much as possible.
Has the goods exchanged hands? If not, then its not done. Atleast now everyone knows your "honesty" is worth 100gbp.
Abusive text messages don't cost much (or anything) and probably provide some amusement, which is to offset being very annoyed at not getting your PW50.
Just because you backed out of a sale,you don't deserve to be hassled like this. They've got a right to be pissed off,and I assume they've told you that. Depends what you would rather have, the occasional abusive text or a court writ for breach of contract amd a trip to small claims court...
im sure offer and acceptance does not apply you have the right to change your mind just as they do. it only becomes complete upon exchange of cash. lesson learned hey lol ..
Wrong, I'm afraid........ The contract exists based upon you saying "I have something for sale at £XXX" and someone saying "I'll buy it at that price"; and it is therefore an 'Implied contract'. AL
