Trainers will say scooping up is not a good idea ! We learnt a lot going to puppy classes especially how to deal with common issues when out and about , maybe someone on the forum can suggest a good online or you tube channel, Our large mastiff type dog loves playing with small dogs
Yeah Nick - we tried hard to get her under control but it was like a red mist if she could see another dog coming, and growling at kids couldn't be tolerated- The Rescue are arranging for her to get behavioural therapy. All the Rescue Centres have shut down, so we can't source another for the time being
I’ve read that before but I’m not about to take a chance when a dog which is 5 times his size is running at him full pelt and looks like it’s about to snap him up in its jaws and head for the hills! Even more so when the owners looked like the sort who get off on having a big, aggressive and not very well controlled dog. It was only his 7th walk of his life, so while I don’t really pander to him when he cowers from other dogs and yelps in fear (it was especially embarrassing when he was scared of a miniature dachshund), this one was a bit risky. A friend of a friend lost her poodle to an attack by another dog a few years ago and I’d hate that to happen to our much loved (and very expensive pedigree!) pup.
Twas - we went 2 months with her but she got worse not better. With working from home, it's frustrating not having a dog to walk - Been trawling the Rescue Centres (all closed) and picked out this 7 year old as a contender
You just need to put yourself in front of the pup I hate to think how many dogs out there didn’t get enough exercise before the lockdown - there are a lot of irresponsible owners out there sadly
We mated our Meg (Her first time) just over 4 weeks ago. Even though gestation is only 9 weeks, it's really hard to tell if they are actually pregnant until around week 6, so the norm is a confirmation scan (can see heartbeats and skeletal development...and sometimes count how many) at 4 weeks. Due to the Covid 'Lockdown', Vets can only deal with emergencies and Scans aren't considered as such. So I'm still not 100% sure if she 'is'....and it's doing my head This is the only bit of the whole 'Having Puppies' process that I don't enjoy. Once I know for sure, I can get excited and organised. We already have 5 people waiting to hear if they're going to have a happy ending to their Lockdown too...... Here's our Meg and 'Husband' Tommy.... Meg Meg Tommy
Some pics from yesterday’s walk/swim He had jumped in the river and only having ever experienced warm water before, I think it was a bit of a shock. That’s more like it.
