Ktm...didn’t Think It Was Possible....

I haven't ridden the Gen 3 but, while you can get brand new Gen 2 for not much I know what I would buy (again).

 

I think the same as yours is the one i would go for. Do they also do it all black?

Edit - seems they do. Gen 2 is 2016 to 2019 is it?

2018 you could get all black but 2019 is black and orange (with orange wheels) or white and orange (with black wheels).
Gen 2 was, I think, 2017 - 2019.

The Hemel Hempstead KTM Centre is 25 minutes from where i live, might take a wander down there when this has all blown over. Supposedly a good dealer and aftercare service.

 

Still great value then and it'll sound lovely with the akra. Really think they've nailed a good performance and looks combo for the money

 

I like the new one the best. Always been on my list of bikes to own....just scored some nix30's for my rsv4 which should stave off the yearning for one..!

Agreed, but there's still too much visible (in your face) pipework for me.

 

Admittedly it's a bit more squiggly than the previous incarnation, but I'd have it anyway as I like that stubby gp look

This is the akrapovic evo on my gen 1 special edition, not the best of angles but it's a nice single pipe from each side that join to the resonator box (not a cat) underneath.

 

I ordered a gen3 four weeks ago before the world imploded sold my BMW gsa instantly so left with no sit up bike for the minute !! black for me !! Oh and I agree tall tidy and an Austin racing pipe on top of 3000 euro of KTM extras should help the looks !

 

For those interested I've just been playing around with the KTM configuration thing on the website for the smaller capacity 890r. This is it with the full system akrapovic, carbon mudguard, ergo seat (high), tank grips and a rather bodged tail tidy I did using the edit features on the ipad.

Looks like a proper little weapon, I'd happily own both so I'm intrigued to ride them back to back

He was Wayne 58, but closed his account ( i seem to remember). He did have one, i remember the threads when he was about to buy it.

 

I have to say I'm sorely tempted by the smaller KTM. I'm just wondering whether a bargain 2nd hand 790 might be in order (with a few upgrades) or just go for it with the 890.

 

The blue and orange colour looks pooey and reminded me of a 99 blade

 

ATM some KTM dealers still have the 2019 790’s at a heavy discount, judd racing in Nottingham have 2 one Black the other Orange. £6800 was the last lowest price I’ve seen but believe they’ll go lower, I really like mine. I don’t/can’t see the benefit of the 890 TBH but then I haven’t ridden 1. For all the same bells and whistles the 790 has to get the same on a 890 lifts the price too high for me.

 

In the flesh they don't look very blue a real dark navy that in the showroom I could barley see ?

 

How do Virgin Mary, soz about late reply, on nights shutting down units as no bugger flying or driving anywhere !! Anyhoo Mazza, still got the 1290 SDR, and still absolutely love it mate TBH. Went and tried the 2020, prefer mine but that 890 does look a laugh though. Cheers @Mary Hinge
