Today I have discovered the merits of ‘tar remover’. During my tidy up I came across a bottle of tar remover, inherited from a dead friend, when I had to empty her flat, but I digress... Tar Remover, does what’s printed on the vinyl sticker.
New headgasket and skimmed heat to put right the bad work a previous 'specialist' did, replaced the Vanos unit for a rebuilt item, new timing chain, new spark plugs, new thermostat, coolant & oil change, and a few other little bits and bobs. Actually a decent price overall from the bloke I used, he knocked me about £600ish off.
it's been quite busy: A couple of hours of work 1st thing to get a running start on monday. Trimmed our side of the neighbours conifers; I bounced up on the kids trampoline with some long handled loppers to get the high bits (knackering - I missed a lot. I probably should have just used the step ladder), cleaned the green crap off the trampoline with the jet wash, garden table sanded and treated with teak oil, dropped some shopping from tesco's delivery off at my mums, found the speedo angels screen protectors in a draw where she had put them and put one on the bike. I have an irish sun tan
Baked some chocolate chip cookies for the Bake Off thread then decided it was too long since I’d drawn or painted anything so I started on a little cartoon of a Forum member, guess who edit 20.00: my mate @chizel may have missed this
yesterday i got the pushbike out of the shed and put air in the tyres, then i lent it against the fence and went back to tv and wine indoors... today i cleaned it and went for as blast! slow blast as i dont want to trouble the nhs.... done about 5 miles. first time ive rode it in over a year... my arse hurts.. i already feel alot better for it though, ive not left the house for anything other than shopping really for 5 weeks, save 3 trips to the pub 4 weeks ago and to the lil shop a few houses down for wine now and then, so it was actually quite nice to be out in the sun and seeing some life... went to a local park, never been there before and was really surprised! it got miles of wide tracks, 3 big hills and about 6 lil lakes (or big ponds) . quite a few people there which i didnt like at first but 90% were practicing distancing and there is enough space to avoid close contact and i did... really enjoyed it... my arse hurts though...
