Just arrived. Still in the box. Will try it out later and report back. If you hear a violent scream in the distance like in some Horror movie... You know I dropped it the first time I went to use it. Then you will read how some crazy middle aged white man jumped his Ducati off the Dam into the lake... Heard of the T-Rex? Now youve heard From the HopefulRex
LOL. The bike will never fall off the stand. Moreover, dropping the stand will not damage anything unless it fell on your foot.....It's heavy. The handle is reversible also which is a nice feature. Personally, I like lifting the bike with the handle forward next to the side stand. Very easy to control.
Trying again. Pretend I wrote something cool. Can stand that some threads the pics dont ALL work and in others I can add a dozen Solid as a ROCK! Rex
If R&G are what work good there and are significantly cheaper go for it. Especially if you can lay hands one one to judge for yourself. The only thing I could touch was a Pitbull. Plus, the difference in price is a meal out, or a few coffees. Which cannot be spent right now. So why chance it. Nobody said a bad thing about these except for the price. I justified that. Rex
As much as I like the Pit-Bull products as mentioned previously, I do recognize that an Overvalued US Dollar, Import Duties and Shipping Costs will make them prohibitively expensive for our European friends.
Check the pin diameter. I've a biketek and a gubbelini sat in the garage growing old. Mine were used on my 748.
I have the generic Rear Paddock Stand which works with the cotton reels. It works OK with a light bike like an MT09 but when I put the Monster on it it seemed to bend in and it did not fill me with any confidence. See how the side by the exhaust leans in? I would buy the single sided one from R&G over this for sure. But the Abba is much better.
Looking online it's 25.8 stepped down to 21.7 Should be the same for these bikes .... My stand from Constands arrived today, and I’m happy with the quality, seems pretty solid and stable. The dolly wheels are useful for moving about in the garage as it’s a bit tight for space.
Pics? Does it have wheels on the handle end too? Mine has just the 2 near the pivot point. I had sen some online where once it was lifted up it was fully mobile. Is that what you bought? Rex
Yes it’s fully mobile with swivel wheels all round. It was £66 from Motea on eBay whereas about £86 I think on their website. Although if I had paid the full price they might have included some instructions on how to put it together...
I’ve got one of those, very good stand, sturdy and as you say useful to move the bike around on, the only issue I found is it’s bloody lethal if you pick it up without holding both frames, the inner bit will flick out and damage anything in its path, so be careful if you pick it up to carry it. PS you can turn thru 180 degrees and rebolt the rear swivel wheel support, on some of my bikes it gets in the way when getting the bike wheel out in the position shown in your photo.
