Thanks Sparch. I had an early 90s 900ss as my last bike, and always lusted after the 888, but couldn’t justify the extra costs. Then family came along. That was 20 years ago. The bike is lovely and needs to be fired up today!
I am lucky. A couple of more recent bikes and two classics. The older dukes are just jaw droppingly beautiful. I can just sit on a stool in the garage with a cuppa and stare at them for hours. And I see them every day. Sad?
Just read the article with a beer in the garden! Fabulous bike and loads of great tips in there. Thanks for sharing
Well done. Looks great. I'll be reading that article first when I buy the magazine. I used to own the 851 that was used in a buying feature in 2016, so I know how smug you feel. A time to enjoy, and you must be really proud as you did the work to enjoy your feature (I think that they wanted mine as it hadn't had much work). Sometimes I still miss the 851....... The 851/888 is in my opinion the best looking Ducati ever and it puzzles me how 916/996/998 seem to be worth more even though they're so much more common.
Nice one Chris, beautiful job, hopefully picking up my copy tomorrow... My 851 ended up on Visordown before it went to Brussels..
The article is perfectly timed, considering all those in lock down with time on their hands to deal with stuff on the back burner. I'm blown away by the attention to detail. I for one like the way you have kept the biposto seat; quite a bit of work involved there.
