Getting back to the thread title , here is my new baby. Its a 1975 h1f , in h2c purple, done 120 miles since a full resto. Puddy
Beautiful. Always wanted one but could only afford to buy & insure a KH250 when I was a teen. Crazy machines.
My dads old smoker. Silk 700s, watercooled twin. Spondon frame. Based on a scott. About 138 made. This is number 100. Made in Derbyshire.
Absolutely nothing sounds better than those old 500 singles! When they tick over you can just hear the individual thud of spark and they seem to idle about 5rpm!
Also took advantage of a little sunshine and tinkered with two strokes .. cleaned the MT250 , serviced the CR125 , and just admired the CR250 and decided again it needs nothing .... all of these Elsinores will be for sale post C-word so shout if you want one Then started putting another 250 together .... this one will be a race bike , not 100% original , but starting with fresh powder coat all round
My old X7 on a camping trip to the lakes years ago. A lad in a neighbouring village bought it new but fell off it so finished with bikes and wanted a car. I gave him £50 and took over the payment book. The headlight glass was broken so it was replaced with a clear Pyrex plate.
I love the MT250 Elsinore...had the MT125 briefly as a teen before getting a road bike....we had a lot of dirt tracks, river beds around where I grew up ....but I wasn't great off road.
Ah, I did wonder when you said that one. I thought it was strange that you would know about Wassy's van after all these years. OK, understand now. Roger *Fully expect him to say he's not Roger. Unless he sees this white text.
