Cheap 848 complete dry clucth kit

  1. Cheap 848 complete dry clutch kit

While trawling various websites I came across this complete 848 dry clutch kit at a great price if anyone was considering doing a conversion. It works out at around £860 delivered.

You get the complete slipper clutch (with plates), all the replacement gears, complete new crankcase, open clutch cover and all the parts to complete the conversion. To buy just the clutch from Ducati it is around this price so you can see why Ducati stopped producing this kit.

A lot of kit for the price.

  2. Wasn't Matt going to the rattle side...?

  3. Forgive me but, why would you?

  4. He's pulled the trigger with MR I thought?

  5. I all honesty if I have an 848 there are better things you could spend £860. Just ask Sinister

  6. I bet the bill through MR is a pretty price !!!! Dread to think.

  7. Yes I have. Not much more than that one tbh. Over 2k worth of kit for less than half the price.

if I bought that one I'd save my labour costs. But I have one, so I won't get it.

  8. Dry clutch is pure race porn IMHO, ease of changing plates, not contaminating engine oil with clutch particles , THE RATTLE .

  9. The noise. Nothing more. I like the noise. And it will annoy the neighbours!

Oh, and I had some cash burning a hole in my pocket.

  10. So Matt, what you doing with your wet slipper, I want one but cannot afford one but got to ask, as you do !!

Hell of a deal for under a grand that dry clutch kit. That other one was from Italy anyway, better off getting it where you can go back to if there was a problem.

  11. Selling the wet slipper. Was going to keep it but it'll just sit on a shelf. Still got the original clutch if all goes wrong.

  12. Love the sound of the dry clutch, not sure Id want it on my 848 as I do like the pure sound of the exhaust, people always say about clutch particles in oil but how many particles can you get from a clutch pack over 30,000+ miles? It's not like a dry clutch that wares out rapidly compared with a wet clutch.. Any way it will look cool and have the real Ducati sound! Im sticking with Sigma :)

(just hope all those dry kits sell quick...lol)

  13. Well the kits in! Ducati delivered on time for a change. Workshop is booked up until the 22nd, so got to wait until then to get it fitted.

  14. What's in the kit?

    Pair of these perhaps?

  15. What you say, I can't hear you?

  16. I was 'informed' that these kits were now no longer available to order and you could only get them from dealers/stockists who actually had a kit on the shelf. I presume Motorapido did still manage to get one in from you special order.

This video was the clutch kit I got for someone that bought loads of parts from me for his 848. I intended fitting it until I found that the primary gear or whatever needed a puller. Apart from getting that gear off the install is fairly straightforward.

  17. This came from ducati, via MR I believe. Only 3 kits left on the shelf now. Yes you do need a puller to get the primary drive off, other than that it is, as you say, pretty straight forward. The later kits were modified so that they can take any basket, as the one in the kit is the same as the 1098.

  18. Will a wet 'un fit on a 1098?

    F'ing clatter!

  19. Watch out, when I made a similar comment about JHP the hounds of hell were released on me

  20. Hope your prepared for the rattle! lol They make a LOT of noise....lol I was listening to an 848 with dry clutch yesterday and MAN think I will stick with the wet Sigma....lol It's funny in all the years Ive listened to Ducs with dry clutches this guys 848 seemed EXTRA loud maybe its coz you see the letters 848 and your brain just goes into over drive with al the noise...lol
