Well, it was disappointing, wasn't it? Yes, it was good to see interviews with all those legends who gave me such entertainment in the 80s. But billed "The Unrideables" I sort of thought it was going to be about the bikes and the technology of the screaming 2-stroke. And then I thought there might be some examination of the Big Bang engine. Instead of which, there was almost nothing about the bikes but a series of interviews with the GP stars of old. Even those weren't great. It would have been nice to catch up on what Schwantz now thinks of Rainey - are they good friends? And Fast Freddie was pretty much glossed over. We never even discovered from the horse's mouth why his comeback wasn't, and why he didn't show up to various races. Barely a documentary, it was just a collection of bits of interviews. Better than nothing, quite interesting, but so much less than it could have been. Then there are the ads. ITV has got beyond a joke. For one hour of programme, you get probably a good 20 minutes of ads. You get some sort of advertising about every 10 minutes and they go on and on and on. Fortunately I recorded it and zapped the ads, but then I found myself with barely 40 minutes of programme. I also think their coverage of BSB is fairly crap too, but I suppose once again we ought to be grateful that it's on at all. I feel a bit like a kid watching TOTP: you just feel grateful that your fave band is on for 4 minutes, drowning in a sea of shite. Apart from that, Oulton Park looks seriously scary as racetracks go.
Anyone know what it was called and if it's on catch up? i know people weren't overly impressed but wouldn't mind taking a look.
