Improved Clutch Actuator

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by Superwombat, Apr 18, 2020.

  1. Hi guys!
I hope everybody is ok...health first.

i have a question about an aftermarket part for my hyper821: improved clutch actuator.
Anybody has this part on the bikes?
It is supposed that this part improves the clutch .
This plate is attached to the original cable clutch leve and reduce the grip force required for clutch operation by a 30%.
It is a cheap part, just 35€ but don’t know if it will do anything.
    Any comments about it?

  2. Theoretically it will take less effort to pull your clutch lever in as you will have a greater distance between the shaft of the clutch actuator and the point at which the cable attaches. You will however get less operational movement on the clutch actuator.

I can't say the clutch lever on my Hyperstrada 821 was particularly heavy, I also had plenty movement on the clutch lever, with the clutch disengaging at about the 1/2 way point on the stroke of the lever, so maybe would have had scope to fit the extended actuator if needed.

  3. The oem clutch is a shit
May be this will improves it a little bit

  4. The actuation of the clutch or the force needed to pull the lever?

If it's the clutch itself, it's a common problem and only really cured by fitting the 939 clutch pack. See my thread on it below.

  5. looks nicely made. for just €35 its worth a try!

  6. It all depends what the problem is. If it's because the clutch is grabby, almost like a switch, that's the design of the 821 clutch pack, the bike is notorious for it. There are a few people who have done the 939 cluch install on here now.

I can't understand if the clutch is difficult to pull in, I've never heard of this before. Clutch cable routing perhaps?

  7. No, no...the clutch is not difficult to pull in...
Just find this part and was thinking if it improves anything in general.
May be have to think in updating to a 939 clutch kit

  8. I think you have the dreaded 821 clutch.

There is a cheaper kit to buy on eBay which means you only have to change one clutch plate. You do however have to take the clutch casing off the bike. You'll need the Threebond sealant to refit the engine casing.
