Should have bought a new RGV250 VJ23 in 2005 when a dealer had one for about £3500 that would now be worth a fortune

  9. A few folks have mentioned the Yamaha FZ750. I wanted one of these but went for an XJ900F instead (married at the time, it made sense).

How was the FZ750, anyone who owned one? I've always wondered.

  10. Derek, do you know captain tom? :D

  11. Captain Tom was @Derek 's apprentice back in the day. :)

  16. My memory is fine, I just didn't take in the guys name. I haven't been paying much attention to the TV news recently, it's nothing but coronavirus.

  18. 1985 CB100N B859DFW
    Test Passed
    1986 GSX400/4 SWG637Y
    1987 GPz550A1 A207CTN
    1988 GSX1100EX GWA333V with 1168cc V&M tuned motor, Dymags etc.etc. (got a CB175 thrown in when I didn't haggle over the £2000 asking price).
1991 Moto Martin GSX with Katana 1000 motor.
owned both 3+4 for a year and then 4+5 for a year or so whilst I put the V+M motor and all the good bits into the Martin and sold the 1100 frame with the Katana 1000 motor - wish I had kept it.
The MM opened my eyes to appreciating that handling was more important than outright power (although wrestling the std GSX chassis with the tuned motor should have made me realise earlier).
So the next 5 were all Ducati.

  19. Hi All,
