  1. Flywheel nut come loose?

  2. Depends how far he had to push it.

  3. Into the back of a van :joy:

    • Agree Agree x 1
  4. Sounds like what happened to my 916. Dropped a valve

  6. Ducv2, yeah both spark plugs are out

  7. FinalE, Yeah neutral the back wheel I can get it to turn normally

  8. I was just curious whether it restarted at the road side. Obviously not if it has seized.

  9. Just dropped the oil no big lumps of metal, just a few tiny flakes around the sump plug as normal.

  10. It sounds like you have a mechanical problem unfortunately. Might be worthwhile taking the timing side cover off to make sure the alternator is still on as mentioned earlier. And once it's off you can attempt to turn the engine by hand using the alternator rotor, and take it from there. The cover can be removed in a few minutes.

  11. Drain the oil and have a look for shrapnel.

Alternator cover off,to see if anything is a miss.
Take belts off and see if cams turn, if they do, get the heads off.

  12. Never turn the rotor by hand. They can be sharp and cut you open..

  13. Steve, it did start up when we got it back home my friend said I bet you the f@@king thing starts now. Was Ticking over for about five or so seconds then shut off. Probably a big mistake to do that but Hayhoe

  14. Crankcase cover is off, Lots of coolant No bits of metal teeth broken off anywhere. The only thing that is broken is my crank shaft turning tool!!

  15. Not a good sign
Use a 30mm deep socket on the flywheel nut

  16. Have you taken the gauze oil filter out?

  17. Forgot all about that little oil filter. Going to cheer myself up and test the starter motor I know that’s an easy job.

  18. The spragg would stop the engine from turning the motor over. If the motor is seized, the engine should still run

  19. The starter motor is a live one less thing to buy. I’ll have a go at turning that flywheel nut in the morning

  20. How long have you had the bike?
