Yeah, I miss the old days, of good old fashioned Brit bin men. Nothing was too much trouble for them ... so they didn't even manage that most of the time
Have you got oxygen? If not you can buy it in small cans incase you feel really bad . It's peppermint flavour.
Had a little chat with Carl yesterday to see how he has been getting on with the service, all done but he's of the opinion it hasn't had a belt change for about 4 years! Do I feel really lucky that they didn't snap, you bet I do! Now got to sort out how to get the bike home as I can't ride it at the mo as I've done something to my back and there's no way I could even swing my leg over the bike, let alone ride it :-((((
Some kestrels have built a nest at the top of one of my large fir trees. I say they built it, but it looks pretty shabby. I see that kestrels don't do a great deal of building - they prefer to take over an old crows nest, so this maybe what it is. You'd think I'd notice if I had a crows nest, but it's a long way up. They don't call them crows nests on ships for nothing. The swallows are making their annual attempt to nest in my barn. This always ends unhappily, as they take exception to my wanting to use the barn while they are inhabiting it. As this is where all the gardening stuff is, I can't very well keep out for a month. I once spent a couple of nights in a French hotel where the swallows nested in the bar, a couple of feet above the patrons' heads. Having people around didn't bother them. My swallows are a lot more circumspect. Radishes, carrots and lettuce now in. More planting today as it's the Ascension Day bank holiday. Yup, it sounds pretty random to me too.
I've done officey stuff but in the main I've been waiting to hear about two tenders for rather nice projects. I'm still waiting.
Not at the mo as their van is off the road! Hopefully I'm not going to be out of action for too long, I've got a docs appointment this morning so we'll see what they have to say.
Spent the past couple of hours trying to sort out flights to Istanbul and Ankara for next week. You'd think it'd be easy
Oh no .... I don't know anyone with a trailer at hand . Where abouts are you? Is there anyone who could ride it back for you? I'm fully comp but I can't touch the ground !! If you let me know where you are.. I can't promise anything but can look. Have you spoken to Carl and told him what's happened. He's a great bloke ..
I spoke to Carl yesterday and he's ok with it at the mo, but I don't want to put him to more inconvenience than needed. I'm hoping the stuff I got from the docs today will help and I can get back there in a week or so. The docs tell me I have a prolapsed disc so I've got diclofenic cream and temazapan so will have to see how that works!
