1992 900ss Inlet Rubbers

Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by GDS968, Apr 20, 2020.

  1. Does anyone have the dimensions for the standard carb/manifold inlet rubbers ie OD, ID, length etc. Just trying to source new from an alternative to Ducati.

    Cheers

  2. Anyone!!

  3. Are they not available? Part number 1-000-706-693 listed at Eu22.90 each on oem-parts.hu

  4. Thanks Dan but...Looking for something slightly cheaper than the £53.00 quoted there including delivery!!
Was hoping to find a UK supplier like Allens but he needs dimensions to check, hence the question.

    Cheers though.

Will measure up best I can but it's not just od I'd and length. There are various steps and shoulders.

  6. Cheers Gaz, I appreciate that, This is the diagram Allens use for the dimensions to their rubbers!

  8. Sorry just seen new post.
The sleeve is not symmetrical. There is a definatr round profile on one side and 2 lower flat triangular profiles on the other to go into intake manifold (I think).

    Cheers Gaz.

  9. Sorry, must have been the light, the 2 profiles are more of an internal barb tail. I have revised the sketch.

  10. Thanks for the update, i don't remember them myself, that throws a spanner in the works for a generic part I would say as more chance of an air leak!!
Think i may have to stump up the full cost and go OEM, many thanks again for checking for me though :upyeah:

  11. No problem. Agree with getting OEM part. Are there any second hand ones on Ebay?
    Cheers Gaz

  12. Probably but to be honest they are probably no better than mine which i think may have air leaks hence the need for something newer!

  13. Have a search for rejuvenating rubber parts. Things include heating in hot water, soak in isopropyl/wintergreen oil, spray with silicon spray soak in break fluid and red rubber grease. Have not tried any but any but might be worth a go. There was also a video with quite a complex formula but it looked a bit expensive for ingredients.

  14. Tigers seal is allegedly very good for fixing rubbers, although not tried myself

  15. I've got a used pair you can have if you want, if you would cover postage? I bought a new (expensive!) pair trying to trace a carb issue. It wasn't the rubbers..so even thought they are used they are fine.

    Just let me know
    Cheers
