    .... my little knowledge of Scots patter ( blether ? ) started with the likes of
    Alex Harvey and Frankie Miller ( in my teens ) , later from Rab C Nesbitt
    and later still , from reading Irvine Welsh and Iain Banks .

    Earliest memories of all .... end-of-the-pier variety shows , on holidays
    and if Chick Murray was on the bill , I'd be happy .
    Very dry humour indeed , with a dash of surrealism chucked in !!
