Happy st George's day everyone, I will be having a few beers and fish and chips tonight to celebrate.
@cookster enjoy your day mate I did not/do not know a lot about St George as, somewhat bewildering, few Englishmen actually bother. So I just googled him. Apparently he was born in Turkey. So I too will raise a glass tonight in the hope that St George can help out with a few more scrubs for the NHS please!!
Thought Turkey had banned exports of PPE and that was where the problem stemmed from or has that now been resolved and the RAF plane got off the ground?
Basically the countries we’re trying to get PPE from are banning exports and we’re running round trying to convince them to relax their controls. There in lies a problem of being reliant on imports, when the chite hits the fan you’re stuffed.
It was not Turkey at the time! He was a Roman soldier too ! Actually he should only be the patron saint of the crown. St. Edmund is our true parton saint as in Bury St. Edmunds - gods own country
St Patrick was born in france or maybe wales who knows just get trashed and enjoy yourselves !! Happy George,s day boys and girls !!
Saw this on twitter, too good not to share. I've proudly got a St George's flag flying at the bottom of my garden. It's a flag I borrowed off my neighbour, a former French soldier. All I had to do was paint the cross on it.
