It was at 3500 BIN no offers just pure BIN. At 3 it’s a snip lower it’s a proper good buy IMO and as I alluded to earlier if my circumstances were a little certain I buy it.
Mot History indicates it was off the road for about 10 years then recommissioned and used for over 6000 miles in 2017. Looks like a good base for a restoration project at that price.
It’ll be cosmetically bad as all Dukes are even the newer versions. It’s just how much you want to bring it back to a standard you’re happy with. For me it would have been a ride through Summer a little then get down to making good in winter.
needs plenty of cleaning, the original reg/rec is still on it! little bit of rust on the frame but nothing major. shock looks dirty as hell so MH Racing for another refurb on that probably; and not to mention the fairings. the only real concern i have is the sprag, it started up a little sluggish and it was warm when he started up. but lifes full of gambles and agree, a restoration project would be good!
Ain’t they always slow, maybe it needs exige’s cables fitting. Could be a dodgy battery too on it’s way out if he’s not ridden much since last Summer.
Looks like you just bought it? Well done Let us know your plans when it arrives. I have a few parts from my recent 996 project so don’t be afraid to ask.
yup, couldn't help myself! @Expat Jack - thats much apprecitated thanks. i'll keep plenty pics for a resto thread!
BTW @Pete433 Really good to see an old dog get another chance. Mine worked out well as I’m sure yours will too. Enjoy.
This sold on EBay at the end of February I asked several questions and the previous owner was very shady about the answers. Looks like someone has had their trousers pulled down and looking to make good on their loss ! Its got all of the expensive harder to find bits missing, seat, subframe, rear shock etc, also by the time you have painted the wheels and put a few other things right it’ll be a money pit. No service history either as apparently was lost Your right Paul, they aren’t as rare as people think, and you could get a decent R for the money.
I feel sorry for the fella if he got stiffed, the one selling it now seemed straight up when I dealt with him earlier; promptly sent me all the info I requested, including photos, which highlighted the discrepancy on the engine. I notice it's no longer on eBay this evening* *as I sit here all alone and check coz no other fecker has urned up in Brecon .........yet
I asked for pictures with the fairings off and also asked what the engine number was too. So someone has dropped a 916 motor in there and totally devalued the bike I liked in the advert where it stated don’t really know anything about Ducati’s, makes you think. Pis*es me off when people mess around with these bikes. Give it another few months it will be up for sale again when the new “clueless” owner works out what they have bought.
