Dark Visors

  1. Hi all. Thinking of getting a tinted visor. I realise light tint is the only legal one but wondered if it would be enough and has anybody been stopped for a darker gradient or mirror visor. Cheers

  2. Always ridden with full dark tint in the day time when I was on the road. They're absolutely fine if you have the gift of vision

    never had an issue.

    most coppers I’ve met operate on common sense approach to it.

  3. im not a fan of dark tint visors at all as when ive worn em ive always found it hard to read the road surface and when riding in wooded areas going from bright sun to shade it messes me up. my mate loves his and even rides with it at night! hes always worn one and never got pulled for it.

  5. Always used full dark tint. Never ever had a problem with the law. Always carry a clear one just in case it all of a sudden it gets dark.

  7. It works so well, wish all manufacturers made a visor that did it.
    Only other I know of is Bell.

  10. I have a pinlock insert for my Arai that does this.

    Dark visor no issues with plod.

  11. i have the agv etint. click the button and it instantly tints.. not real dark but i dont like it real dark. go into a shaded section of road or a tunnel and click, is clear again. really thought the tech would move forward on this but it seems to have been shit canned.

  13. I've always had them and never had a problem. I think if you ride like a knacker and get caught, it's another thing to hit you with, if you are sensible, the law usually is too.

    I was flagged down at the beginning of last year with my mate on the 1st sunny weekend when loads of bikes were out, by a bike cop. He said sometihng along the lines of "Don't worry lads, I'm not interested in your exhausts, number plate or visors. Just keep it safe this weekend as you won't have ridden for a while" :upyeah:

    The only helmet I don't have a dark visor on is my Avatar. :eyes:

  14. You can buy universal ones but no idea how good they are

    I don’t think they’d change quick enough going in & out of trees

  15. I use dark but only if I know I'll be back before it's too dark. I take @chizel point though.

  17. The Shoei one isn’t rapid but quick enough that if your on a lane with trees it isn’t a worry.
    The weird thing is you don’t see it from inside the lid getting darker so when you take it off or do a vanity check of your own reflection you realize how dark it’s got.
