One of the neighbours has been spying on me, I'm all over Facebook. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10222190834908131&id=1482054715
Been couch/bed bound since Monday with the plantar fasciitis in my left foot and due to me having to favour the left foot when trying to walk, I have a persistent tendon cramp in my right foot. I’ve seen 99 years old men walk with more alacrity than I can muster at the moment. Pretty crap week with plans for doing stuff in the garden coming to nowt and such lovely weather too. Well today I’ve got off my arse and into the garage. It’s taken a while but I stripped the front of the 748 in preparation to remove the 30mm offset triple clamps that were fitted for the track. Stupidly managed to break my top clamp centre nut tool but everything came off, new taper roller bearings the were delivered today have been fitted to the eccentric in the headstock and the original top and bottom yokes have been re fitted with all the other bits to make it a rolling chassis again. My feet ache like buggery but I definitely feel I have achieved something. Going to enjoy a delivered India take away later and several beers. Next job is to remove the extended mag alloy swing arm and refit the original. I think that is going to be a bit more challenging but hey, I’m not going anywhere. Andy
I had that in my left heel last september and it lasted 6 months until march - you feel like a feckin' old man limping around, and falling over when getting out of bed whilst forgetting you can't put weight on your left foot
As my dear old mums gardener is self isolating I’ve been over and cut her hedges and lawns, then did mine, I’m bolloxed now. Still, makes a change from decorating.
@theskitz, mate, @wroughtironron does not deserve a drama queen. If you have not had it, whilst transitory and you can't die from it, at its worst it is a disability. Andy
Sorry pal fat fingers from the lockdown it was an agree I was pressing !! I have capsulitis myself in my left foot it can be agony I even bought an automatic van to help !!!
Inside not really. We probably waited 20 minutes to get in. One in, one out. but when we left, there were 5 times the people in the queue. Go early!
Mid week is bound to be better. No restrictions on what you can buy, although they had no sand and very few plants so some stuff has been battered. No under 16’s and two people together only.
Built and fitted a 2” narrowed beam to the ghia, bloody grease everywhere then stripped the calipers and gave them a covering of vht silver ready for the seal rebuild.
Carried on with me 250lc Resto slowly getting there, started me M900 up, Harley has flat battery. Fixed the Mrs washing machine so all good.
Took the rhs cylinder head off of the h1 , was weeping between the head and pot . Cleaned all surfaces and torqued down to a mere 16 ft lbs ! Then cleaned the fantic cos I was bored , lol. Puddy
Bit of R&D yesterday on the z1000...a lad in the Phillipines got in touch with me about an experimental airbox mod that he'd done on a zx-10r and had some good results so, 25 quid punt later and i had a crack at it....results: arse dyno says, snappier...but itll need to go back on an actual dyno for the true result... Kitchen tea tray was the donor... Never used that heat reflecting tape before and had a roll so thought what the hell...
