Wouldn't be surprised if there was no racing this year, in any championship. No point in having a few races towards the end of the year, as that wouldn't meet the criteria of the minimum number of races required to constitute a championship...
This explains what will happen. At least I won’t have to be on the phone trying to get a bloody ferry!
I read Hutchy’s book and he came away with something like 80k when he won five in a week so the top riders are going to be massively out of pocket this year.
The majority of the people offering accommodation (of any sort) and entertainment (pubs, cafes, restaurants etc) on the Island, make a significant proportion of their annual income during the TT fortnight so many of them will feel the pinch too. Andy
Wonder if the IOM SPC will refund all but the £60.00 per head deposit if we transfer to equivalent 2021 ferries, or if they will try to keep all the monies paid?
Statement on Covid-19 On behalf of ACU It is with regret that the ACU are suspending all competition and social activity until 30th April 2020, but this will be constantly reviewed. This is in response to the emerging guidance issued by HM UK Government in response to the outbreak of COVID-19. All permits for events during this time will be cancelled and reimbursed in full to the organising club/ promoter. As the National Governing Body would ask all ACU Members to act responsibly and follow the Government’s guidance during this difficult time. We have a responsibility and duty of care to our staff who will be working from home, so please be patient with any queries you may have. As of writing (17th March 2020) HM Government have advised: - Persons to work from home where possible - People over the age of 70 to minimise social contact - Emergency services will not support mass gatherings - Stop non-essential travel - Avoid pubs, clubs, restaurants and cinemas This statement is supported in its entirety by AMCA Up-to-date information on COVID-19 can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public
That’s a good point, I didn’t think of that. Knowing SP they will keep all of it, not an issue for me but in these uncertain times the cash back minus the deposit would be welcomed by many people.
Doesn't look like a refund less deposit is amongst the 3 options on offer. Full cancellation and refund Or Move your 2020 ferry booking to equivalent dates & times for 2021 and the IOMSPC keep all your money for another 12 months Or A sneaky if you don't respond by 11th May your booking will remain on for 2020, as I would not expect travel to and from the island to be freely permitted in the next 4 weeks = the IOMSPC keep all your money. I took option 2.
Number 2 for me as well, at least we don’t have to go through the booking nightmare this year. I’m going to miss the Island this year.
Any cheap t shirts or hoodies anywhere going cheap? Having never been I feel justified to wear the 2020 Clobber
I’m going to miss the Island this year.[/QUOTE] I'm Hoping to get across in August if they will let us in.
