I own a 2011, 60 plate MTS Touring with 7.5k on the clock. I'm sort of interested in buying a skyhook model so asked my local dealer for a trade in price against a demo '13 MTS Touring in silver but on a 62 plate. It has 1600 miles on it and is priced at £13500. After some haggling the difference to change is £3500. Does that sound good or bad to you?
Seems a fair deal to me because you are getting some warranty included and can increase the warranty of the 62 plate bike as well. Plus you get the new suspension included.
Sounds fair enough bud. Got 10k for my 10 plate S model against a new one. They are also swapping over my pipes and tail tidy and other bits and bobs free of charge. I like the Ducati dealership guys, they seem to play with a straight bat.
That sounds pretty good TBH. A mate of mine has just done a deal Px ing his 12 model Triumph Tiger 1050 against a 13 model Triumph 1200 exploder. He lost over 4500 in 12 months!
Wow! I only lost that amount in six years on my old Speed Triple when I sold it privately to buy my Multistrada. Hasn't your friend heard of eBay?
Paid 12 when you include what he lost trade in on his last Tiger with all the bits, offered 8400 for last years bike without the bits against an exploder...... I thought it was a bit much.
I changed my Aprilia Dorsoduro for the Multi after 15 months of ownership from new, I lost £2800, you live and learn, I will keep this Multi now until it dies, unless I win the lottery lol However luckily I paid quite a bit less than RRP for the MTS12, so I may not get hit as hard if I was to change
I was in Riders yesterday drooling over the 2013 pikes peak, if I had endless stacks of money I would change but I just have to question if the EXTRA enjoyment I would get from owning one is worth the EXTRA £7-8k it would cost me, and I don't think I could justify it.
Another way of looking at it is to think what additional bike you could buy for £7k-£8k. I'm sure there would be a huge choice of tempting second hand goodies. This might open up a whole new avenue of fun, rather than icing the fun you already have.
